The Standards & Technology Department of the GEIA serves as the technical advisory group to the Government Electronics and Information Technology Assocation. It establishes policy and oversees the activities of a variety of technical committees.
Some of these committees address specialized information exchange solutions for the electronics industry. Specifically, the IBIS and CMC groups deal with input/output buffer specifications for IC's and with advancing the state of the art in compact modeling.
